Just returned from another trip to the Napo River in the Amazon jungle in Ecuador and wanted to give you a report on what we saw & heard when we were down there. I met with the different pastors that we worked with last year and asked them to report on what had happened in each location where we had worked…this is what they said:

Day 1: San Carlos…A worker from Pastor Williams church named Pedro moved into the town to start the follow up. He’s lived there ever since and continues the follow-up/discipleship ministry. There are 25-30 people who meet together each week and 10 people have been baptized. Pastor Williams church pays 100% of Pedro’s salary, but the new believers have purchased land for a new church building and a house for Pedro.

Day 2: Pana Cocha…A young single man named Alejandro has worked full-time in this town since we left, although he hasn’t moved there yet…he plans to in the near future. There are 25 people who meet together regularly and they have purchased land for a church building and a house for Alejandro. Eleven have been baptized…Alejandro is fully supported by Pastor Pablo’s church from Coca.

Day 3: Rocha Fuerte…David Trujillo and his family have moved permanently into this town close to the Peruvian border. They are fully supported by Pastor Ramaro’s church in Coca who also just bought them a boat & motor to do more work along the river in this area. They have 40 people who meet regularly in a nice rented building, but no one has been baptized yet. When we left David and his son last year, David commented to his son, “it’s just the two of us now to do this work of the Lord.” His son responded, “no…there’s five of us…you, me, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!” They knew no one when they moved there…now they’re planning to spend the rest of their lives there if God leads them that way.

Day 4: Tiputini…David Trujillo goes by boat and regularly meets with and instructs the 15 people who are continuing to follow the Lord.

ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT:
Remember Christina…Debbie Leander’s translator from last year…worked in the pharmacy with Debbie…she was from Eastern Germany…an atheist who
everyone was praying for. Well, Pastor Joe left her his Bible and challenged her to read it with an open mind and heart…AND SHE DID!!! She went on
to translate for 5 more E3 trips and has since put her faith in Christ for salvation. On top of that, she’s married a fine Quechua Indian Christian man named
Freddie (although I doubt that’s his Indian name!) and is 3 months pregnant. She was really very enthusiastic for the Lord and her new life.

THIS YEAR:
We returned to strengthen the work at San Carlos & Rocha Fuerte, but also went to 3 new communities. We basically did the same kind of work that we
did last year and had another 318 professions of faith.

NEXT YEAR:
We’re planning to return to continue the work at the beginning of August next year. IF we can get a big enough team, we’d like to rent the house boat again
and each day send out 2 different teams to work in 2 different locations. Please pray about joining us! We need to give a $2,000 deposit on the boat in
January, so we’ll pretty much need to know by then how many plan to come.

PALM BEACH:
Remember the location of the 5 missionaries who were martyred in that area in the late 1950’s. It’s about a 3 hour bus trip from Coca and Freddie is a
tour guide who will gladly take us there. We’re hoping to make that trip our last day to see the sight (just sand & water), but it should prove to be a
rewarding visit.
